Firmware Updater question

Well thank you, Charlie.

I'll start looking at that method and see what we need to do to get it going.

Much appreciated

So. Can the original Ender 3 be Firmware Updated via the raspberry pi via Octoprint? I swear I did it in the past. But might have just been the CR-10S I have. I know it works on it. Guess its time to break out the UNO. What a pain in the a$$.

It depends on what board came with it. Unfortunately, Creality has been known to ship multiple boards in the Ender 3 now (yes, the 'original' 3, not the pro, s1, etc).

In pretty much any case, it is possible to flash either the 8 bit boards or 32bit boards using the firmware updater plugin, but the setup will not be the same.

And, if you do have an 8bit board, you will have to flash a bootloader first (ie. with your UNO), but that's a one time requirement. Once you have the bootloader, it will flash via USB.

There are probably dozens, if not hundreds, of videos, blog posts, etc about flashing an Ender 3 out there.
