Globaler API Key

Der globale API Key sollte am Besten nicht mehr verwendet werden. Es ist ein einzelner Key, der vollen Adminzugriff auf die gesamte OctoPrint Instanz gibt. Er wird in OctoPrint 2.0 entfernt. Stattdessen solltest du individuelle Application Keys für Third-Party-Clients erstellen. Dadurch bekommen diese die Zugriffsrechte des jeweiligen für die Erstellung des Keys genutzten Nutzeraccounts und du kannst einem Client auch einfach wieder den Zugriff entziehen, ohne für alle anderen den Key ändern zu müssen. Es ist außerdem ratsam, einen Useraccount ohne Adminzugriff zu erstellen und so möglich für Third-Party-Clients zu verwenden.

Onlineprüfung

Wenn die Onlineprüfung aktiviert ist, wird OctoPrint in regelmäßigen Abständen prüfen, ob es mit dem Internet verbunden ist. Das ist nützlich um resourcenintensive Operationen zu verhindern (wie z.B. der Prüfung, ob Updates vorliegen), wenn es bereits klar ist, dass diese Operationen mangels Verbindung nicht durchgeführt werden können.

Regelmäßige Onlineprüfung aktivieren

Definiere ein Prüfungsintervall, einen Host und einen Port gegen die geprüft werden soll. Falls du nicht weißt, was du hier einstellen sollte: Die Defaultwerte (Cloudflares DNS Server) sollten funktionieren. Um vor bekannten Probleme mit bestimmten Versionen von Thirdpartyplugins zu schützen unterstützt OctoPrint die Verwendung einer zentralen Pluginblackliste, über die automatisch solche Plugins deaktiviert werden können, bevor sie mit dem normalen Betrieb interferieren können.

Standardmäßig wird OctoPrint die Blackliste von plugins.octoprint.org/blacklist.json verwenden, auf die du hier auch einen Blick in menschenlesbarer Form werfen kannst.

Das ist besonders wertvoll bei Release Candidates, weshalb dich dieses Plugin auch bittet, es einzuschalten, wenn es erkennt, dass du einen RC Release Channel abonniert hast.
