My main issue with a lot of plugins is that they don't use more universal GPIO drivers, and with the PI 3 and 4s being 100-200 USD this is pretty much an imperative need.
My solution, use a development board like the pico, which is maybe 8USD without headers 14 with, or an audrino nano as a slave device and input for other plugins, opening up an API, in essence, that can be used on any board.
Will this conflict with Klipper? Probably not, so long as you keep the octoprint-specific board out of the config.
