Backup to an SMB share

Is there a way to choose an SMB share as backup destination so if the systems fails, the backups won't go south with it?

I searched for this but couldn't find a solution other then rsync or scp the backups regularly away. Maybe i missed something or there is a plugin I don't know.

The internal backup location isn't configurable, but you can do what you mentioned syncing it elsewhere. Otherwise a custom plugin may be needed, like the Google Drive Backup or WebDAV backup plugins.

You could use event manager in settings to add a system script to copy the backups across to a smb share.
