Do plugins that use GPIO work on pi boards with pi compatible GPIO?

Mainly say this because pi's cost as much as the og Aquila rn due to scalping. I'd be willing to try to make it work via compiling the pi GPIO drivers, or installing them if that works.

This is mainly for smart filament sensor and the spool weight plugin that i forget the name of that uses a weight sensor.

For most plugins using GPIO, the GPIO libraries that they're using are specific to RPi. PSU control is the only one I know of that has implemented cross-platform GPIO control.

That's unfortunate. I've got a lot of issues to put up then unless I can get the drivers to work on non pi boards. That way, it'd make the same calls.

good news is I found repos that ported the drivers over to other boards. I think it'll be a matter of installing these and swapping them out in the setup.py script

You may find it more difficult than 'just' swapping the listed requirements, but if you are happy to modify the code yourselves there is nothing against that.

Python may need updating for GPIO for work,

I do not know how or why when I only ask for Compatible Plugins.

what is RPi?

Raspberry Pi. I have to type it a lot so shorten it down.
