I think you're right, some how the temperature offset for the colour I was using was way out of whack, something must of got messed up.. thanks so much for pointing that out!

I think @foosel might be right.... Found this:
Seems if you apply a temperature and/or an offset to your filament, then it adds both to the slicer set gcode temp? Might be something to check
