How can I add my Cura profiles from newer versions

The newer versions of cura use .curaprofile which isn't supported by the version in octoprint. How can I import my profiles?

In short: you can’t.

OctoPrint comes with the CuraEngine from the 15.04 series of Cura, so you need profiles compatible with that version.

So the cura part is just useless then. I installed the slic3r plugin and apparently it depends on those same profiles.

I have the included Cura plugin disabled on my printer and I use then the standalone Cura application. I prefer the control which I get in the full app.
