I'm printing very models with high resolution so with big gcode files 20 to 30 Mb. The gcode viewer is not working for those files. But I would like to know which layer is currently printed. Is there a chance to add this to the status area as default?
I think the you're looking for the DisplayZ Plugin
Correct. Thanks for the Link.
@kschwi If you want to see the layer-number instead of the height, you can use this plugin: https://github.com/OllisGit/OctoPrint-DisplayLayerProgress/
