Looking for plugin/development to use camera to check if plate has been installed before print starts

Hello

I've got a bunch of prusa minis'. All running with pi zero w2's and zerocam cameras all in the same position.

It would be great when the print starts it checks to see if a plate has actually been installed via the camera.

If someone knows how to achieve this or has the ability to develop this then let me know

TIA

I've personally always wanted something to check the bed to see if I've left anything on it. I would suspect that this could be achieved with some form of opencv integration and a plugin to prior to job start take a snapshot, check that snapshot against some training data that would tell it if it's in a state that is "ready" for printing and then continue, otherwise pop up a prompt in the UI. If I had time to do such a project I would, but unfortunately right now time is tight.

Thanks for the info for sure. I don't have the skill to achieve this but that opencv compare tool looks like it would work for sure.

Thanks again

I've posted this job on upwork if someone is interested

I believe Python should be listed in the Skills and Expertise section. It is implied by listing opencv but I don't think it would hurt to add it as well.

Thanks. Added
