It kills me not to be able to jog the machine around like a normal cnc machine. How hard would it be to interface a manual pulse generator to use with octoprint? I can't be the only one dying to have this.. lol
Just fyi and not an answer
You can do that for example with the octoprint app and your smartphone or with your keyboard when you're on the octorprint control panel on the webinterface.
You could also use something like an external keypad like here
