Octopi connection kills existing job when it connects

When I have a job running from the SD card already, if I connect Octopi, the machine freezes.

No buttons seem to respond on any device. To get things going again, I have only found rebooting the printer to work.

I'm connected to an FLSUN QQ-S from a Raspberry Pi 2B fresh install, using wifi.

I suspect the answer is, "Don't interfere with local jobs with Octopi--choose one or the other." But if it's possible to work around this, that would be great!
