I've been using this plugin for a while and the layer % widget of Dashboard has worked.
I'm currently starting to print larger items ( 80MB files ) and the layer % just stays at 0% with the bar showing 100%.
Maybe it takes some time to scan the file.
Did you check it again after some time?
It stayed that way for the whole 4 days it was printing.
The layer % in dashboard uses data from octoprint's gcode viewer (for now). The gcode viewer by default does not load files larger than a certain size. You would need to go to the gcode viewer tab in octoprint and tell it to load the file manually when printing large file sizes.
When we get around to releasing version 1.19 eventually, this will no longer be required.
