There appears to be a number of listed compatible webcams, but can anyone recommend a webcam they use that has good images and resolution, with few compatibility issues?
My go to is the Logitech C270

Yes the C270 or the C310.
They both have a hardware encoder built is so you have low cpu usage.
720p is enough.
They have a Serial number / some cheap camera's not (good when you want to use more than 1 with udev)
And both can be bought cheap used on ebay.
I paid around 5-7€ + shipping for each.
