Switch 24V LED via Octoprint

Hey everybody,

I already searched for a plugin to switch a 24 LED via Octoprint. The most solutions that I found were handled by wireless switch.

I would like to turn on a light, when I open the webcam window to see my print.

Is there any plugin to get this feature, maybe also with a zoom function.

I would use a relay and a script for the led.

Here's one way to integrate the script into octoprint

If you want to be able to start and stop the webcam server through OctoPrint's system menu, add the following to config.yaml :

system:
  actions:
   - action: streamon
     command: /home/pi/scripts/webcam start
     confirm: false
     name: Start video stream
   - action: streamoff
     command: sudo /home/pi/scripts/webcam stop
     confirm: false
     name: Stop video stream

You can adapt that quote for your own needs. For example one script to turn the relay on and another one to turn it off.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. You shared code to start the webcam. Is it also possible to control the led on the same panel?
