Not sure if timelapse is an addon or built in. I don't always want to generate a video so it would be nice if while rendering there was a way to cancel it.

Afaik, you can't cancel the timelapse feature when a print is already running.
You have to turn it off before:
I don't want to cancel while it's running. If I forget to turn it off it would be able to cancel the rendering after the print is finished. But I'll try to remember to turn off next time.
