I just finished building a MK4S after suffering through 3 Creality machines. I have used Octoprint for a few years now and do all my printing via Octo. After the build I setup Connect and used it for the first few prints. Its sorta ok. Not as full featured as Octoprint but the basics are there and working.
I am wondering whether or not to move the Prusa to my Pi5 Octo (setup before Pi5 support)? Glancing through various posts I get the impression that Prusa is not as compatible with Octoprint as the Creality machines(?) I mostly use Wyze cameras so I am not worried about the camera support.
Interested in hearing from folks who are actively using Octoprint on an MK4/S.
Iβve been using Octoprint with a MK4/MK4S for close to 18 months, and I expect to keep using it with the Core One. I do wish the integration was a bit better than it is (this does not appear to be a priority for Prusa), but I am a creature of habit, having used Octoprint for several years, and I appreciate the options that Octoprint gives for monitoring and/or unnecessarily obsessing over prints in progress (including the camera).
I also have an Octodash setup that I still use β again, creature of habit!
OctoPrint runs fine with the XL
This makes the previous issues mentioned about MK4/S, Mini, XL (basically anything running PrusaBuddy firmware) way more tolerable, because you get all the stuff that is missing from printer display when printing from OctoPrint. Basically print progress, M117 messages and such aren't displayed on the newer generation firmware from Prusa. Other than those little bits, I've heard from others that it works perfectly fine.
