1.6.0 Can't Reconnect After a Print

What is the problem?

Since the 1.6.0 update.. I am unable to connect to the WebPortal on the device. I have to power cycle and reboot the system.

What did you already try to solve it?

  • Similar symptoms on all three of my Octoprint setups.
  • Reboot, reprinted another item. Same systems

Have you tried running in safe mode?

No

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

N/A

Additional information about your setup

OctoPrint version, OctoPi version, printer, firmware, browser, operating system, ... as much data as possible

I can see where you have power cycled the device in that log, since it breaks suddenly. Where possible try and use sudo reboot or similar over SSH to ensure a clean shutdown.

What I'm not seeing, is any errors. From OctoPrint's perspective, everything is OK. So this is looking like something to do with the network maybe.

When you are 'unable to connect' what kind of error do you get?

Thanks for the assist.

So, I attempted to SSH into the unit so I can shutdown cleanly... and it fails to connect.
Power cycle, and I can SSH in.

So it fails both via SSH (I don't normally go that way), and the standard web interface just fails to load.

I upgraded two of my units at the end of last week, and started to see it.. but didn't think much of it, as weird things happen.

But my one unit, I just updated this morning... and immediately started to see the issue.
So my network conditions haven't changed. All three of them sit with in 15 feet of an eero node with no interference.

Once I reboot, I can SSH in and access via the web.
I am going to let this one sit, with no print job. and come back to it in a little while, to see if I can access.

So I just tried at 30 minute mark, and I can't connect.

I shut down all plugins.

The next thing I am going to try, is connecting a hardline ethernet connection to them.
And see if I can isolate the issue a little more (aka rule out if it is the WiFi connectivity)

So this may have to do something with the plugins.

For the last 3 days, all 3 of my octopi's have been stable, after turning off all the plugins.
Will start to add them one by one to see if they were the culprit.
