Backpower fried wlan0?

What is the problem?

I have an Ender 3 and a Pi 3. I haven't used it in a while, so I was logging in to update and get ready for a project, but the pi wasn't on the wifi network. I connected the ethernet and it grabbed an IP and I updated, but wlan0 will not connect to the wifi network. Is it possible the backpower problem fried the chi?

What did you already try to solve it?

I have confirmed the information supplicant.txt file - no change
I put the micro SD into a different Pi and it connected to the wifi, so I think I have a hardware problem.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

No

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

No

Afaik the wifi chip is connected via usb so that's not impossible but I never heard of it.

I would connect the pi via ethernet and run a wifi scan to make sure it really doesn't work at all.

Ssh into the pi and run

sudo iwlist wlan0 scan
