Best WINDOWS OS to use as a Print Server?

I've looked through the FAQ pages here and done a bunch of searches on the net in general. I've TRIED very hard to find the answer on my own before asking what might appear a silly question - or a repetitive question.

I have an old HP Envy x360 Convertible laptop that I want to use it as a 3D print server INSTEAD of using a RasPi. I have multiple 3D printers that aren't wifi capable. I would need to purchase at least 2 Pi's with power supplies, boxes, cards, etc ($190--$250 all-in for 2 units). The laptop is sitting here and isn't used by anyone. EDIT: (I would install Python and Octoprint on the laptop and use Octoprint to manage the printers from there.)

My primary question is:
Which Windows operating system would you use? Server 2022? Windows 10? Windows 11? (7 doesn't work with USB 3.0 ports and a bunch of headaches)

Laptop:
(this is a print server only - not my CAD or slicing machine)
HP Envy x360 m6 Convertible
i7-6500u
16gb RAM
1TB HDD
MB: 80D0
BIOS: F.29

I've tried to learn Linux and have given up. I'm done beating my head against the wall downloading programs to run programs that run programs to install programs that will run other programs to install the original program. No TY very much and guh-bye Linux. ... annnnnnnnd Format. ENTER

She's ready for a new life as a 3D print server, but she needs an OS. (not Linux)

The windows installer I created should work with any 64bit version of windows. It was developed on Windows 10. Relative to your other issues with linux, the easiest install for that is using ubuntu server or debian without the graphical user interface (unless you want to load OctoPrint Web UI on laptop directly) and the octoprint_deploy script to manage all the bits and pieces for you.

I know all that already, but appreciate it.

Yes, my plan is to install Octoprint (windows version) and manage the prints that way. Same way as with a RasPi

Still wondering, do I use a Server edition or a regular 10, 11 edition? Does it matter? I'm going to try and run 4 machines from the laptop if possible.

I don't think it will matter server vs regular windows version, but I've only tested on windows 10 and 11 desktop. For multiple instances, you just run the windows installer again and give it a new port number.
