Bl touch probe issues since upgrading to 1.11.6

I am running an Ender 3v2 and was running 1.10.x (not sure exactly which verion) and everything was running fine. I started the system up and got another upgrade message so I thought I'd go ahead and upgrade to version 1.11.6. Everything on the install seemed to go fine. No errors. I tried running a print and the bl touch started doing its thing and got about half way through and the system halted. Had to turn everything off and back on again. Tried running a different print and the same thing happened. Tried a third time and the probe finished running and the print started, but the probe continuosly kept dropping down and back up, it started running into the clips holding the glass bed down so I stopped the print and turned everything off. I tried running a print a few days later, got the print started, the probe kept dropping down at first, but I let it run. The light on the probe is still blinking red like it has an error. Going to let the print run and see what happens. The probe is fairly new and I don't do a lot of printing. I just can't help but think this issue is related to the upgrade.

What did you already try to solve it?

Powering off and back on multiple times. Upgraded other plugins. Rechecking connections. Not sure what else to try.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

I will attempt that after this print that is running finishes (assuming I don't have to stop the print)

Edit: This print finished last night with no issues. I tried booting into safe mode and running another print and the touch probe is much worse. It will not stop trying to probe even after the print starts. It keeps flashing red like there is an error, the light goes out, comes back on and it drops the probe to the bed and gets another red flashing error all the while the actual print is running. I had to end up stopping the print.

Edit 2: So I got home tonight and thought I'd try to update the firmware for the probe. I downloaded it from the creality website (not sure if it was an updated version over what I had installed as it had no revision numbers) and loaded it. It didn't seem to do anything. It immediately went straight to the os, creality stated that the firmware update would take 10 seconds. However, I tried to do another print and it is now working fine. Go figure.

Octoprint has no bearing on the probe. It only sends the gcode commands to the printer. It sounds lime you may have a bad connection between the probe and the printers controlboard

Do you have an original "BL Touch" or is it a "3D Touch". 3D Touch probes are sensitive for any interference and behave sometimes strange, like dropping out without a command.
