What is the problem?

Initially - years ago - I wanted to run multiple cameras with octoprint on octopi.
As nothing worked as expected ( under OctoPi << 1.0 ) I condensed my expectation down to ONE Cam.
BUT i only got it working once ... gave up.
Now I reflashed to newest Version and wanted to start over agin. HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED:

  • absolut fresh image ... camera works.
  • Reboot PI ... camera works.
  • Power off / Power on PI ... camera does not work anymore and other then after the reflash again .. I cannot reanimate.
This now is on PI OS is WITH the NEW CAMERA STACK.
The nice command "libcamera-hello --list-cameras" says kind of "no cameras found" right AFTER reflashing, where Octorprint does show the stream

ALSO:
freshly flashed, cam works
Install ONE "System" Plugin on Software Update Version: ==> File Check Plugin
===> camera stream disappears. not to reanimate.

As I am not good or I am totally weak on Linux, this totally confuses me.

What did you already try to solve it?

Read threads, reflash etc.
No more Ideas - pls see above

Have you tried running in safe mode?

haven't as my intuition says: is is a virgin system and as I believe I understand a cam that in principle is supported - so what shall a safe mode chenge on a virgin system

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

see above
