Can OctoPrint auto connect when printer-device appears?

What is the problem?

I power on/off the printer using a menu item and GPIO pin.
When I switch it on this device appears
1d50:6029 OpenMoko, Inc. Marlin 2.0 (Serial) (along with ttyACMx)

it woudl be very nice if OctoPrint could be configured to automatically attempt a connection on new device..
