Can't start a print unless I specifically click the "Load & print" option

What is the problem?

I can only start a print through the use of the "load & print" option next to a specific file. I have had this issue in the past, but managed to get it working again somehow (I don't remember what I did, but I don't remember it being anything significant). When this issue occurs I only have 3 buttons available to me under the connection info:
Start
Pause Resume (it's a single button with the word Pause floating above the word Resume)
Cancel
I can load a print from the file select dialog, but none of these 3 buttons will do anything. I managed to find the workaround mentioned earlier using the load & print button, but it has become quite annoying not being able to cancel problematic prints through octoprint.
Not that big a deal on its own, except that also means I can't cancel a print if anything goes wrong unless I shut down octoprint mid print or cancel the print using the printer's built in UI screen.

What did you already try to solve it?

Reinstall octoprint, reload the page, using different browsers, disabling 3rd part plugins, updating octopi, downgrading octopi, reupgrading.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

Yes

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

No

Systeminfo Bundle

You can download this in OctoPrint's System Information dialog ... no bundle, no support!)

I WAS going to include this information...but in the process of attempting to do so the page was taking FOREVER to load...at which point I realized my Duolingo ninja browser extension was slowing down the page...after disabling it for the octopi website I noticed that my buttons now appear and function as intended....So I guess this is no longer a help request but rather an informative update to let people know to disable that extension when using octoprint!

Additional information about your setup

OctoPrint version, OctoPi version, printer, firmware, browser, operating system, ... as much data as possible

That looks like a broken UI. Try a force refresh (shift+f5) or load in incognito mode of your browser maybe. Might need to check your browser's developer tools (f12) on the console tab to see any errors on page load or when selecting the file, etc.

Posting this so that this post can be marked as solved (easily) - the issue is with the user's browser extensions
