Ender 3 with octopi on a pi4

What is the problem?

just getting into printing with octopi and was there a way to get it to boot from a hard drive like you can with raspbery pi desktop

You can flash the OctoPi image to a hard drive that plugs in via USB in the same way that you can with RPi OS.

will thr pi reconise the usb at boot up

It works the same way that flashing to an SD card does. It also works the same way that flashing RPi OS does.
