What is the problem?

Cannot bypass the login screen to allow guest access.

What did you already try to solve it?

Googled, looked for Forced Login plugin, there is none. Found on GIT it is depreciated

Octoprint 1.4.2 on Ubuntu Server on desktop, Ender 5 Pro, Marlin 2, Chrome, Windows 10

Do you need to completely disable any logins, or create just a read-only account? To the best of my knowledge this is all done with 'Access Control', a new feature recently introduced, allowing for granular permissions over what is accessible.

There was a discussion on Discord the other day about this. The docs indicate an anonymous access control option, and I don't think that's possible anymore with the later granular permissions changes of the newer versions of OctoPrint.

The only workaround I could think of was using the autologinLocal and autologinAs settings in config.yaml and force it to log in with a read-only user account automatically.

I have access control enabled with 1 user, me as an admin. When I logout, there is no guest access. It brings you right to the login screen. The guest group profile say "users not currently logged in" so I was thinking you should be able to have guest access without login in. Then when you login, have full access., but it doesn't seem to work that way. There is no way to turn off the need to login before you see anything. Ideally, you should be able to hit the website and see status without loging in, if you want to control the printer, you need to login. Does that make sense? I feel like I am rambling...
