This plugin will work if you go to terminal tab of OctoPrint and send M117 test and see the work test on your screen.

I have released a beta version of E3V3SE modified firmware and its OctoPrint Plugin to show the progress on the LCD display when printing from Octoprint. If you want to give it a try and report issues on the repos here are the links:
