Installing OctoPrint onto 2019-09-26-raspbian-buster-full

OctoPrint setup 20200121.zip (5.8 KB)

The attached file contains a set of directions for installing OctoPrint onto to a full [buster] version of Raspbian, one with all recommended software installed. This process worked on my Pi 4 with 4GB of memory.

Installation seems to work reliably when using a wired high-speed internet connection, but it sometimes stalls out if using WiFi. Your mileage could vary.

I followed your very detailed guide and all went well and I can open Octoprint on my Windows desktop. However, the status is "Offline after error
No more candidates to test, and no working port/baudrate combination detected.". I wonder whether I should have modified the IP addresses given in haproxy.cfg to match my system. The IP address for my Pi is 192.168.86.39 on cable or 37 if on WiFi.

I am afraid that I am well beyond my level on competence.
Thanks

The No more candidates to test, and no working port/baudrate combination detected message means octoprint can't connect to your printer.
The octoprint server and haproxy seem to work fine if you can read this message.

Turn your printer on and connect it to your pi via usb
