IP took too long to respond

I loaded octoprint to my raspberry pi zero w (I know, not recommended but I am not using a camera). It has connected to my guest network (2.4 GHz) and the IP address has been assigned. However, I cannot get it to connect in Google chrome by typing in the IP. I always get the message "(IP) took too long to respond".

What I have tried:

  • Rebooted Pi
  • Rebooted computer
  • Re-installed octoprint to the drive

I can provide more information as needed. I am no expert with these things!

Try Firefox.
Cause:

  • Chrome: It is not possible to change the timeout settings in Chrome.
  • Firefox: You can set the value of network.http.connection-timeout in about:config

I feel super dumb...

I had the pi connected to my guest internet. I did this because I thought my main internet was only 5 GHz. However, I forgot about this smart feature with my TP Link router to automatically change devices to 2.4 GHz if they don't need the speed of 5 GHz. This fixed my issue.
