Has anyone here ever used Octoprint with a Markforged printer? I would like to make sure these are compatible before investing too much into this project.

Afaik you're the first user who mentioned this brand in this forum.
I would just test it. You don't have to buy a Pi for it, you could use an old spare pc or laptop for it.
Here are OctoPrint installers for linux and windows.
Another option would be to test it with another control software like Pronterface for example.
