Move hot end away from part on Pause / Stop?

Not really a big problem but one that frustrates me a little is that when performing a Pause or Stop the hot end just stops where it is and makes a mess of the part due to filament continuing to flow and the heat of the hot end slowly soaking in to the part leaving a melted pit or blob.
To minimize the damage caused here I have sent the Pause / Stop command then using the 3d printer's controls send a move in Z to move the print head out of the way.

Is there any way to get the head to automatically lift a bit or go to a "safe zone" when the process is Paused / Stopped?

I got this working on my printer by enabling "advanced park feature" in Marlin firmware
