No WebUI on secondary computer! I have tried most options!

What is the problem?

I cannot access the octoprint webui from my browser (opera gx) and/or cannot use it in things like cura or prusaslicer.

What did you already try to solve it?

I have reinstalled octoprint a couple times, tried every possible combination of link, ip, and port that I could think of. I have even went so far as to change firewall settings to allow my windows pc ip.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

N/A

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

N/A

Additional information about your setup

I am running a custom klipper firmware on my Ender 3 V2 NEO, this problem also persisted with mainsail + moonraker before I ultimately went back to octoprint (love the plugins!). This is running on an old Acer Nitro 5 with a i9-9300h and igpu gtx 1050. I am using a fresh install of octoprint with octoklipper being my only plugin so far. I would have this figured out but I cannot even identify the source of the problem. Please help! (edit: laptop was converted to linux mint for the purpose of klipper alone. I had forgotten to mention this.)

Hello @Neoguy !

How did you try to access OctoPrint from the 2nd system/browser?

By IP address or a different way?

By ip and links like octopi.local, localhost, etc.

How does the IP look like?

Have you tried

http://<your_ip>:5000 ?

I have tried this: http://192.168.1.246:5000

Ip is also discoverable on device I am trying this on, I thought I might add.

And I just remembered this now: my old octoprint setup (pre-klipper) was on the stock windows OS on laptop, which worked fine on all local devices. I’m starting to think it might be a weird Linux network config or just simply something that I missed

How did you install OctoPrint on that Linux?

You may try:

I used that exact script.

And thinking back on it, I never had haproxy on windows. BUT it is enabled on my now Linux machine.

Could that be the reason these issues are happening?

OK. Done some digging and apache AND haproxy were enabled...seems to be heading in a good direction. I may also unintall mainsail + moonraker to make absolute sure that they are not interfering. (and honestly, i might switch back after this debacle) (when using the 127 ip it brought up mainsail on laptop that was hosting. I have uninstalled both moonraker and mainsail and are hoping for results.)

SOLUTION: at this point I reinstalled mint, did not update anything (even though it REALLY pushes it), installed kiauh, then mainsail and moonraker and it just worked. so my solution/theory is: be careful when using mint. Do not update anything, only install kiauh. (I have not tried only relying on the bootstrapper yet, but it may work.) I am officially in business with klipper! (Worse case scenario, if nothing works, do what I did. Take you thumb drive which you installed mint with and do a complete wipe with install in bios. Make sure to not update or install anything else besides what I stated.)
