Noob installation guide for ffmpeg on the RasPi

Wanting to make timelapses like this video and following the installation guide for Octoprint I've come to a halt as I'm unsure what to do after downloading the ffmpeg file.

I can't seem to find any step by step guides to follow online on how to set it up onto the pi.

Sorry for the noob question any help much appreciated thank you.

apt-get install ffmpeg does the job normally

Add the OctoLapse plugin and Bob's your Uncle. Example
