What is the problem?

While installing Octoprint I am getting this error and can't get any further.

What did you already try to solve it?

Uninstalled python and reinstalled, Uninstalled netifaces and tried again.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

That error usually comes from missing one of the options in this screenshot:

Install “C++ build tools” and ensure the latest versions of “MSVCv142 - VS 2019 C++ x64/x86 build tools” and “Windows 10 SDK” are checked in the configuration.

Thanks! That helped get me past the part it was erroring out on, now I have another issue LOL... After I type c:\octoprint>octoprint serve , it will load a lot of lines then hang on this line and not do anything after that, just sits.

Please forgive my newbie-ness, if that is the case, where is the interface? I guess I'm lost from here then. I put in C:\OctoPrint\venv\Scripts\octoprint.exe serve and This is all I get: c:\OctoPrint>C:\OctoPrint\venv\Scripts\octoprint.exe serve

Just a sidenote: long log listings like what you posted are much easier to read when you put them into code fences. That's the </> - icon in the editor window, or simply 3 back-ticks on a single line above and under the listing.

Ok, Thanks, I was able to get the interface to come up and load, but not able to establish a connection with the printer. Selected the com3 that it's on, left the baud on auto, but not able to connect. Drats....
