Print shifting to right

What is the problem?

When I print from Cura, everything prints correctly. If I print through octoprint, it prints a few layers (usually 5) then shifts to the right, usually by a significant percentage of the width, so not just a few MM.

What did you already try to solve it?

different models, different Gcode, not sure what to try or where to look

Have you tried running in safe mode?

yes

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

no

  • It looks like the Z axis is not moving up at all from that picture?

It is moving up, if you look, you can see multiple layers.

But then why are they all so squished into the buildplate? From that picture I can't see any Z movement. The lines on the far right are pressed right into the surface, if it moved up at all then they would not be laying down like that surely?

Here's another example, it got more layers in before moving to the right

Does this also happen when you print from the SD card in the printer?

there is no sdcard for the printer, however, it does have an app and it prints fine from that

wow that thing looks like it's .. manufactured cost-effectively.

Try to lower the acceleration and jerk settings in cura.

I can't really tell you what values to use because I don't know that printer.
I would start with 100 mm/s² and 2.5mm/s on all settings and test if it helps.
You should also try to lower the print speed to idk 20-30 mm/s.
