Printing directly to Octoprint

Please move or delete if this is the wrong place for this.

What is the problem?

I have OctoPi setup and working, but we use Bambu Studio as our slicer and would love to be able to print directly to OctoPi rather than exporting GCode and uploading in the OctoPrint interface.

I can't get Bambu studio to connect to octoprint. Every time I try, it just says it can't. It behaves like the Octoprint side of the connection isn't running; like I'm missing a plugin or something isn't running.

What did you already try to solve it?

Restarted Octoprint, researched.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

No

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

N/A

Systeminfo Bundle

You can download this in OctoPrint's System Information dialog... no bundle, no support, unless the reason you couldn't retrieve the bundle is your network issues

I am currently not able to get a support bundle as I'm geographically separate from the printer/octoprint. I'll upload it tonight.

I will say that networking itself shouldn't be the problem since I can connect to OctoPrint via the web from my laptop but cannot print to OctoPrint from Bambu Studio on the same laptop (unless Bambu does some stupid cloud spooling crap for non-bambu printers)

Additional information about your setup

Hardware you are trying to connect to, hardware you are trying to connect from, router, access point, used operating systems, ... as much data as possible

Hardware from: Macbook running Bambu Studio.
Hardware to: octopi-1.1.0-1.11.2-20250610114348 running on a rPi 3B with the built-in Wifi (old, I know)
Printer: Prusa MK3+ (also will hopefully be a CR-10S if I can get several things working)

Hello @Zombie !

Have you tried OrcaSlicer? It can connect to OctoPrint without any problem.

I haven't tried it, no. I'm setting this up for my Robotics team, and we as a team use Bambu Studio, especially since the X1C is our primary printer.

I know Orca will print to the Bambu, I don't have the position to change the slicer....yet. The Prusa and the CR-10S are 'extra' and I'm trying to get them functional so we have more print capacity, I don't think I'd be able to change the slicer to make them work. Once we have them working well, then maybe, but until then, I can't.

Bambu Studio has Octoprint defined as a "target", and I've found instructions on Bambu's website on how to do it. I just can't get it connected with OctoPi specifically (haven't tried rolling my own Octoprint install yet).
