What is the problem?
First time install of Octoprint 1.10.2 on Armbian Bullseye on OrangePi Zero. Installation went fine, I can loopback the serial ports and ensure function. Printer is a Qidi XMax (original) which is operational standalone, via USB Flash Disk and via Network with Qidi Print software. I am attempting to connect OctoPrint to the XMax via the TTL-serial header (only using Gnd, Tx,Rx), and have had same results with both OrangePi onboard ports and a variety of USB-Serial adapters. (I have extensive experience with Serial in many flavors, so I do no suspect the serial hardware).
Octoprint shows one of two results on "Connect" - either a complete timeout (wherein the tx/rx are swapped), or a connection result positive (Recv ok / Operational status) if the pins are wired correctly.
When in operational status, buttons can be pushed, files can be uploaded, print can be attempted to start, but the printer never actually moves. No temperatures appear to be reported back (the graph never updates).
What did you already try to solve it?
Multiple serial port adapters, loopback tests, installed GPX (negative results, disabled GPX.). Primary browser is Chrome on Win11, moved to Edge on Win11, Android Chrome, Firefox on Debian - all same result. (didn't expect a browser swap to affect since the page and JS is running fine).
Have you tried running in safe mode?
Yes. Slightly slower response and of course no plugins, but exact same results.
Did running in safe mode solve the problem?
No
