Run 3D printer through raspberry pi with octoprint

Hello. I am getting a 3d printer that must stay hooked up to my computer at all times. Is it possible to hook up a raspberry pi with octoprint to it so I don not have to leave my laptop hooked up to it? And what else am I missing?

Well it depends on which printer you got

Hi Glenn
I'm using a Pi3a+ on a "Rumba" 3d printer (sharebot NG) and I check the printer using web browser, or ssh.
You only need to check if your printer is supported or try it!

That is the main purpose of OctoPrint on a Raspberry Pi: https://octoprint.org/.
But also, as @PrintedWeezl said, there are some restrictions with some kind of printers.
