Swapping out Raspberry PI

What is the problem?

I am swapping out my Pi3 for a Pi4. Do I need to repeat the installation procedure on my SD card? What other steps do I need to take?

What did you already try to solve it?

Have you tried running in safe mode?

Systeminfo Bundle

You can download this in OctoPrint's System Information dialog ... no bundle, no support!)

depends on which OctoPi image you're using right now.

If you are just wanting to use the same card/software in the pi, while it's in the 3 ssh to it and do:
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y && sudo rpi-update

The last step you will have to answer y to. It installs the latest kernel and modules for all versions of the pi.

Then do sudo shutdown -h now
Power it off and move the card to the pi4
You will have to get the IP address again, because the MAC address of the wifi or Ethernet, whichever you are using, will be different

That's a bit generalized, but correct in most cases.
