Tab sizing question

What is the problem?

Question about tab sizing when more than the default items are shown. I have the TP-Link Smart Plug plugin installed and sometimes it shows all the tabs with names other times it shows the "hamburger" menu drop down.

Tabs2

The window size has not changed but clicking on some other tabs causes the text to revert to the drop down menu (Shown in second image.)

I've tried opening the window full screen but get the same effect. Sometimes the text, sometimes the menu. Just curious what controls the switch. If the plugin name was shorter would that help?

What did you already try to solve it?

Tried various browser window sizes to see what might effect the behavior.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

No reason to for this issue.

Did running in safe mode solve the problem?

No.

I believe it's just to do with the width of the space available. I can't currently find a number or something to put on it, but if it hasn't got space to fit in the gap then it would end up being in the drop-down. So yes a shorter name would work better, it is probably right on the edge of fitting in.

You can customize the tabs with one of these plugins:

It never crossed my mind to use a plug-in to modify the appearance. Thanks!
