Using octoprint with no wifi network or router

I have a friend that wants to use Octoprint to print from his phone, but has no home wifi and no computer. Is it possible to flash Octoprint to run without a wifi home network and where he can slice via Octoprint?

He is using an Apple IPHONE and has a CTC Dual 3d printer.

You could install something like this on the pi.

RaspAP/raspap-webgui

I guess it would make things easier if you set the pi up at your place and then give it to your friend

I've been able to make something similar and integrated...

OctoPrint AP Mode

I've been able to use CustoPiZer to create an OctoPi image that bundles RaspiWiFi (with GPIO removed due to potential plugin conflicts). This allows you to flash the img file to an SD card or USB thumb drive without configuring the WiFi ahead of time. After the initial boot up process a new OctoPi-#### SSID will be available to connect to. Once connected open your browser to http://10.0.0.1:8000/ and you'll be able to select the wifi to connect to and set the password.
