Webcam garbled until I run pkill mjpg_streamer and restart octoprint

Camera model

Logitech c270

What is the problem?

Webcam view is garbled

What did you already try to solve it?

SSH'd in and run sudo pkill mjpg_streamer and restart octoprint. Image is then crystal clear. Per Foosels posts on other forums there's a wrapper/command in the octopi image that starts another instance of mjpg streamer. (I think - I'm not well versed in this). Is there anyway to stopping mjpg streamer from starting a second instance via Octopi. Or in the alternative: to have the pi automatically run pkill mjpg_streamer immediately prior to Octoprint starting?

Thanks in advance for your help!

OctoPrint doesn't control the webcam streaming, so it starting up has nothing to do with the problem. There's never a 2nd instance of mjpg streamer either, since only one can access the webcam at any given time, the scripts I think you are referring to are managing mjpg streamer, so when you kill it the script will automatically start it again.
