Webcam intermittently stops working

Camera model
Logitech C920

What is the problem?
Webcam intermittently stops communicating with printer. Have to restart webcamd to get it working again.

What did you already try to solve it?
Searched the forums. There is no webcamd.log in /var/log

Logs (/var/log/webcamd.log, syslog, dmesg, ... no logs, no support)
There is no webcamd.log in /var/log

Additional information about your setup (OctoPrint version, OctoPi version, ...)
OctoPrint 1.4.0
OctoPi 0.17.0
Raspberry Pi 3b+
Connectected to SKR 1.4 Turbo over GPIO pins
Power provided by buck converter set to 5.1v
Wifi and LED ring light also connected to RasPi

On my Pi4 running raspberry buster OS, there is no /var/log/webcamd.log file either.
I found logging is moved to journalctl.

You can try

systemctl status webcamd

and to see the full log

journalctl -u webcamd

@foosel (or someone else, not sure who is responsible) is this something that needs to be changed in the template, since no one can find the webcam log under var/log, and should instead run this?

There's a bug in OctoPi 0.17 that somehow crept in and caused the log to not be written where it should. I fixed that for 0.18. Until then, journalctl -u webcamd might indeed be the best solution.

I'm having this exact problem! Just started manifesting this week. No hardware changes for the past few months. Its worked perfectly for 10+ hour prints till early last week.
