Could not autodetect my printer Linux Laptop

What is the problem?

I cannot seem to connect my printer to my computer (i am using linux mint laptop as my raspberry pi). I am using a USB-B to USB-a adapter to connect, (it has the data transfer symbol, so it's not just a power cable) and i know the usb port is not broken. My serial port and baudrate is all AUTO.

What did you already try to solve it?

I have tried using my window laptop to connect to my printer and it works perfectly. I've tried using different usb ports and they all don't work.

Have you tried running in safe mode?

Not exactly sure whats safe mode

Systeminfo Bundle

You can download this in OctoPrint's System Information dialog ... no bundle, no support!)

I downloaded Octoprint using Linux manual install and followed all the steps

Additional information about your setup

OctoPrint version, OctoPi version, printer, firmware, browser, operating system, ... as much data as possible

My computer is the chromebook C214m that is running on linux mint xfce. I have not downloaded anything on it except prusaslicer and octoprint. My printer is the elegoo neptune 3 pro. it works on my windows computer so it must be something with my linux computer

and i don't have any plugins installed so i don't think safemode would make much difference right?

I clicked the download and this is the file that was downloaded

Was that the correct file?

Have you tried different USB cables?
How did you install OctoPrint to the Linux system?

I know the USB cable works because I’ve tried it with my window computer and it worked.

Regarding the download, I followed the manual download section on the official octoprint website. I’ve seen YouTubers do the same on their Linux laptops ( the tiles says the are installing on Linux laptop, but I don’t actually see the computer, only the screen recording)

A more easy way is this:

Ooh I see, Thanks a lot!!
