Just asking if anyone has used OctoPrint (OctoPi) with the new Creality Ender 3 V3 printers (we just got the new V3 Plus)?
It only has a USB A port on it that I can see. Do I just use a USB 3 male A to male A cable to connect them?
Any issues with the speed capabilities of this printer and printing from OctoPrint?
Thank you!

Nope, it won't run out of the box.
the Creality Ender 3 V3 runs on a crippled Klipper derivate. To connect it to OctoPirnt you have to make changes to the Creality OS.
This information on pre installed Klipper on 3D-Printers
To access Klipper from OctoPrint, Klipper has to provide the /tmp/printer virttual USB port. The port name can be different. For this, OctoPrint must have access to this port. For this is a virtual and no physical USB port, OctoPrint must run on the same system as the Klipper installation. (Like classical OctoKlipper). The physical USB port of the printer is used by Klipper to communicate.
Over at the Klipper forum we made the experienc…
Hmmm... that's a shame. I will read up on it tomorrow.
We are still in the early stages of using the printer but we so liked the remote management and monitoring abilities. Every printer we've gotten I've just automatically got a new Raspberry Pi and cameras and set that up.
Maybe as time goes on there will become alternative methods as well such as firmware and such.
Thank you for the information.
