How do i get the normal desktop with 0.18 image?

When I installed Raspberry Pi, i used the latest version with everthing in it, and I have a bar at the top for
all the items.

Now with this version, it seems to be like a windows 3.1 screen.. Is there a way to get the pretty desktop with all the apps in it somehow ?
I did an sudo app full upgrade but no difference.

OctoPi comes without a GUI because it's meant to run OctoPrint as a server with a web front end. BTW: Windows is also a GUI, you mean DOS 3.1

At the end of the startup sequence is a hint how to install the desktop GUI.

To quote the welcome message on the terminal:

This image comes without a desktop environment installed because it's not 
required for running OctoPrint. If you want a desktop environment you can 
install it via

    sudo /home/pi/scripts/install-desktop
