Offline: no more candidates to test

What is the problem?

My raspberry pi was working properly until i change the power source and i change the short cable to a longer one to my printer. when i switched back to the old setup it didn't worked anymore, the pi boots up with an undervoltage warning even if i have enought power for it, when i plug the printer in i can see it was unable to connect in the log and my octoprint doesn't detect the printer.

What did you already try to solve it?

i tried 3 different usb cables and 2 power sources but when i plug the cable in the mks gen l motherboard no led turns on as it did before on it like it won't get any power from the usb

yes i runned but it didn't help

Well if it has an undervoltage report, then there is not enough power. It does not lie, there is a problem here that you should fix.

Can I point out the 'WRITE HERE' part :slightly_smiling_face:

No more candidates to test usually means the Pi cannot see the printer at all, and is usually related to cabling, printer mainboard or faulty USB ports. You can try as well to tape the 5V pin of the USB connector, to see if that helps

Hi, not sure I understand you problem, are you trying to power the Pi from the USB port on the mainboard?

No, i was delivering power to the rpb3 from the psu of the ender 3 with a buck converter to 5V and it worked fine until now. Also before when i updated the printers firmware trought the cable from my pc with the printer turned off, the led on the maindoard mks gen l turn blue because of the 5v from the usb cable, i don't know if rpb should also turn on the motherboards led when it is workig. I tried powering the rpb first then plug to the printer and reverse but i didn t foud the printer and couldn't connect. It doesn't work from the time when i change the power source to another one also from a psu of 10A and i used a buck converter to deliver 5.1V that i thinks it is enought but i still get undervoltage warning and i get an error sayng that i have a bad usb cable and the new usb device couldn't be connected or so

I know the undervoltage warning doesn't mean good but i was using my printers psu with a buck converter to deliver power to the rpb and it worked fine but after that i also tried another psu of 10A and i delivered 5.1v still getting undervoltage warning and i couldn't connect to the printer because i was getting an error saing that the usb cable is faulty and the new usb device couldn't be conected, it worked well, i tried 3 different cables that worked before. I am not sure what log i have to out in there, octoprint is not the fault, i thinks something with the ports on the pi but i don't know exactly wich will help

those are the logs from the raspberry pi, i can't post them as a file but i just formatted them if it helps to solve my problem

When you said you are going to a buck converter, how are you then powering the Pi? Through the microUSB/USB C or directly to the GPIO? You should know that there's no fuse on the 5v GPIO pins. So, going over voltage even a little can fry the onbaotd 3.3v regulator that powers the SOC. And if that fries a little bit, you'll get lots of undervoltage errors.
Also, are you sure your buck converter supports 2.5A?

not yet, i am trying right now but i also tried to connect rpb to another printer and it didn't worked as well

Do you have the chance to connect a HDMI monitor/TV and a USB keyboard to the Pi?
You get into the backend/shell of the OS. If the USB works, you should be able to make keyboard inputs.

yes i just tested and no one of the 4 port are working. they worked before but now they don't.

Concerning the power on USB you may have a look onto these threads:

But I recommend to get rid of the undervoltage warning first. Check for a good USB power supply (not charger).

Right bow i tried have the ender 3 psu and i also tried with another one at about 10A 12v with buck converter and 5v 2.4A charger and they worked before but i may blowed up something that i get this warning

Have you double checked that the buck converter is actually giving you 5v with a voltmeter? Those buck converters are not the most reliable things in the world. To see if it's the problem, I would power with a standard RPi power supply to find out.
