Rpi4 2GB says This board requires newer software

What is the problem?

My new Rpi4 2GB says: "This board requires newer software" and won't boot any further. I've read people have this issue with 8GB model, but 2GB should work properly. Does anybody have a hit what went wrong? I've downloaded OctoPi 0.17.0 from official site, flashed it to 8GB microSD card via balenaEtcher and connected it via ethernet cable.

What did you already try to solve it?

Read some forums. I'm a new user.

Have you tried running in safe mode and if so did it solve the issue?

No.

4th time I've seen this. You'll need a newer OctoPi build, so you can get the development of nighties from the GitHub page. https://github.com/GuySoft/OctoPi

Raspberry Pi keeps making things difficult for @guysoft and me it seems. I've added a note to the download page to use nightlies in such cases. Probably time to push for a 0.18 release but I know Guy has his hands full with other stuff right now and frankly I'm struggling to get everything managed that's already on my plate myself.

Thank you very much! The latest nightie worked for me.

@filip.vesely - what revision of Pi are you using? I'm trying to pin down a pattern to these issues.

Please SSH to the pi and run cat /proc/cpuinfo and post the results here. Thanks!

Thanks! Will try and keep an eye on if this becomes a pattern.

As a data point, I'm currently seeing 521 instances of a pi 4 revision 1.4 in the stats. I'll have to look into cross referencing those with the detected octopi version of any tomorrow, that night tell us if that is something that is even detectable based on the model number.

This happened to me too, same setup, same error message - I got the nightly build and it's now up and running. Thank you so much for the time you take accruing knowledge and sharing advice!

@Dixon_Paul could you also share the output of cat /proc/cpuinfo?

We have another user over here. @2A_Finishing do you think you could run the same commands above and provide the results once you get the nightly installed.

Thanks much, I overlooked this thread.

I'm on satellite, so I likely won't be able to get the download finished until morning, but I'll respond here with my results in the AM, thank you!

Sorry it took a few days to get back to you. I've got the printer set up now (anycubic chiron), and now trying to get Cura working with octoprint, but that's a different thread

We got another one:
